Delivery and Collection

Where is collection from?

Collection is from Fen Ditton, CB5. Full collection address will be given once the order has been made or upon request.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery is priced based on time traveling and is worked out individually. This gives an honest price for delivery as different times of day as well as different days of the week will affect the amount of time traveling.

Can any product be delivered?

All of my products can be delivered. I have detailed delivery information including advice for for safe travel for my dessert tables, afternoon tea and celebration cakes. All orders will be boxed and cushioned where necessary to ensure a safe travel.

How will my order be transported/ how is best to transport my order?

All products will be in sturdy cardboard boxes and stacked in bags so they are easy to carry. Desserts will be packed in their boxes with surrounding cushioning where necessary to avoid movement during travel. I advise avoiding sharp breaking and turning corners quickly to prevent any movement of the boxes or anything falling on the boxes.

For cakes: 1 tier cakes 8" or smaller will be in  bag, multiple tiers cakes and larger than 8" will be in a sturdy box and will need to be carried as they are, in the box.

All of my products will be kept chilled up until collection or delivery (apart from royal icing products). It is therefore best to keep the air conditioning on in your vehicle during transport incase of direct sunlight hitting the products during the journey.

How do I look after my products after I receive them?

All products and cakes will come with a label detailing how to store them and when to eat them by. To enquire before ordering please send me a message detailing which specific product(s) you'd like to know about.

How should I display my cake/ desserts/ afternoon tea?

Portion Guide

How do I know how many desserts per person for my dessert table?

I have created 3 options to help guide you towards the correct number of desserts per person.

Firstly you need to consider this points:

- Will there be other sweet treats on the dessert table?

- Will there also be a cake served with the desserts?

- Do you want to have spare?

Considering these points choose an option from below:

1. Rachel Bakes treats are the main dessert: 2-3 desserts per person.

2. Other desserts and/ order a cake is also being served alongside Rachel Bakes desserts.: 1-2 desserts per person.

3. You are looking for a small addition to your already built dessert selection: 1 dessert per person.

A full guide to building you dessert table and prices can be found here.

How many servings/ portions do I need for my cake?

I offer 2 serving sizes for my cakes: coffee at 1" by 1" and dessert at 1" by 2", height of all cakes are 5.5".

To decide what size serving you want consider these points:

- How many guests are you going to be serving?- You may choose to have enough for 90% or you may want spare.

- Will there be other desserts or small treats provided?- You may choose to have a smaller piece of cake if there is other dessert served alongside the cake.

- What sort of event are you planning?- Birthdays usually serve dessert portions and weddings usually serve coffee portions.

- What is the child to adult ration?- Children and adolescence may want a large serving than adults.

- Who will be cutting the cakes?- Staff at venues know how to correctly portion the cake once informed of the desired serving size. A family member or friend may not know proper cake cutting methods and this will therefor affect how many servings the cake provides.

Yes. I understand making decisions for your event is important and I want it to be exactly what you imagined it would be, so I can appreciate a change of thought.
