Price and Portioning Guide

It is hard to imagine the size of cake required to get the right number of servings for your guests. There are 2 serving sizes to choose from, below are some considerations when choosing which serving size as well as some simple diagrams to show how the cake would be sliced.

All of my cakes are 3 layers of sponge coming to roughly 5.5" in height.

My cakes have 2 serving options: Coffee at slightly over 1" by 1" and Dessert at roughly 2" by 1".

Cake widths start at 4" which is about 10 coffee servings or 5 dessert servings up to 10" which is about 70 coffee servings or 35 dessert servings. 

I have detailed the starting price per serving for my set sponge and icing flavours but can also take bespoke flavour requests which will be priced separately. 

All decoration comes at an additional price.

Tiered cakes will have an additional charge for specific cake boards and dowelling.

Coffee Servings (minimum measurements)

1" x 1" x 5" portion dimensions (2.5cm x 2.5cm x 12.5cm)

Dessert Servings (minimum measurements)

1" x 2" x 5" portions dimensions (2.5cm x 5cm x 12.5cm)

Points to consider when choosing your cake size:

How many guests are you going to be serving?

Will there be other desserts or small treats provided?

What sort of event are you planning?

Birthdays usually serve dessert portions and weddings usually serve coffee portions.

What is the child to adult ratio?

Children and adolescence may want a larger serving than adults.

Who will be cutting the cake?

Staff at venues will know how to correctly portion the cake once informed of the desired serving size. A family member or friend may not know proper cake cutting methods and this will therefore affect how many servings the cake provides.

Cake Dimensions and Minimum Servings

The price per serving for the set sponge and icing flavours below are the starting price before decoration. The cakes will come stacked an iced. 

The decoration prices are for individual pieces, for example the macarons, or for the recommended amount for a 4" cake.

Tiered Cakes

Tiered cakes give the oppertunity to have different flavoured tiers, reach higher servings and give a centre piece spectacle to a dessert table or event room.

Each cake tier is individually priced then added together to give a final sum of the whole cake. This will be detailed in the order breakdown on the contract.
